In order to judge the opportunity of using Saanen males to improve the productivity of Red Maradi goat, a study was conducted to evaluate growth performance of crossbreed kids (F1 and F2).
The content of desirable fatty acids, unsaturated fatty acids and monounsaturated in milk increased with 20PEG treatment [+20%, respectively (46.56% vs38.75%, P10% DM), we should try to dilute CT with changing fodder regime. The results show that the 20PEG dose increases milk production by +31.5% (95.76 vs72.81 and 70.21 kg/120 day of lactation/goat for respectively 20 and 0 and 40PEG). Ten goats in each group receive 75 g/head/day of CT from carob pulp. Three doses of PEG (0, 20 and 40 g/day/goat) were administered respectively to three groups (0PEG, 20PEG and 40PEG) of lactating goats. This effect can be negated by the addition of polyethylene glycol (PEG). Diets containing high levels of condensed tannins (CT) can alter the production and quality of goat milk.
